Greg Robbins’ primary interest is in the human experience and engaging the viewer, followed closely by his love of architecture and architectural history. His theatrical designs examined the psychological motivations of the individuals while creating an engaging visual that advanced the narrative. He earned numerous national and international awards for his designs, including being chosen to exhibit his drawings as part of the American Exhibition at the Prague Quadrennial, Mozart in America, which was awarded the Golden Triaga. He was honored at the Kennedy Center with a first-place award in design excellence and his renderings have appeared in several national publications. As he transitions away from theatre to focus on graphic art, the human experience and engaging storytelling remain at the core of his work. His innate sense of composition is apparent in his work and his rigorous study of anatomy has given him solid understanding of the human form, allowing his bold contemporary mark making to reflect his self-confident approach. He approaches each piece as a struggle, battling with the work until a victor emerges. Greg believes in embracing the palimpsest of this combat, evidencing the process of creation.
